Antwerp Towage was established in 2008 as a joint-venture of leading specialists, Fairplay Towage and Multraship Towage & Salvage. Antwerp Towage provides ship owners and operators from around the world with competitive harbour towage services at all river terminals and locks along the River Scheldt in the Port of Antwerp. Fairplay and Multraship’s state-of-the-art tugs and experienced crews handle our clients’ vessels and cargoes with the utmost care, whilst the team onshore works closely together with our logistics chain partners in the Port of Antwerp to ensure smooth and efficient operations at the highest level of service.

Both Fairplay and Multraship have a long heritage and have earned their reputations as leading providers of high-quality, reliable towage and salvage services. With shared values and equally high standards of operation, in Antwerp Towage the two family owned organisations combined their strengths and capabilities to provide a dedicated towage service for one of the world’s most important trading ports, the Port of Antwerp. 

FAIRPLAY TOWAGE was established in Hamburg more than a hundred and twenty years ago by Mr. Richard Borchard. Today it comprises a group of companies mainly engaged in the towage industry with dedicated offices in Hamburg, Rotterdam, Rostock, Swinoujscie, Szczcecin and Gdynia. In addition to harbour towage, it is involved in deep-sea towage, offshore support and salvage works and, via group companies, in shipbuilding and repair as well as real estate management.

MULTRASHIP TOWAGE & SALVAGE is a division of the Muller Maritime Group, owned jointly by the Muller family and Fairplay Towage. Multraship’s core activities are harbour & terminal towage, salvage, sea towage, offshore support services and port services. Headquartered in Terneuzen in the Netherlands, the company operates a large modern fleet of tugs, salvage craft and support vessels. Other maritime-related companies within the Muller Maritime Group include Bourgas Tug Service, Verenigde Bootlieden, Montis Mooring, Scheldt Maritime Services and Novatug.
